More Than Dozen Indo-Canadians Win Civic Polls In BC

While hundreds of Indo-Canadians ran across BC in the civic elections for Mayor, Council, School Trustee and Parks Board, more than a dozen candidates were successful in winning the Mayor, Council and School Trustee positions. Some of the big winners included the re-election of Kelown’s mayor Colin Basran, Burnaby councillor Sav Dhaliwal, Councillor Kelly Chahal from Abbotsford, Vernon councillors Dalbir Kaur and Iqbal Singh Mand, councillor Kuldip Singh Dhaliwal from Osyoos, Councillors Ken Herar and Jag Gill from Mission, Councillors Jack Hundial and Mandeep Nagra from Surrey, Councillors Arjun Singh and Bill Sarai from Kamloops, Councillor Mohini Singh from Kelowna, Councillor Gurvinder Singh Randhawa from Prince Rupert,Pakistani-Canadian councillor Anita Ansari from New Westminster, School Trustee Gurleen Kaur Dhaliwal from New Westminster, School Trustee Gary Thind from Surrey and School Trustee Preet Mohinder Singh from Abbotsford.
