Sardarni Gurnam Kaur Gill has passed away on November 12.
Gurnam Kaur Gill was born on February 10, 1927 to parents Sardar Roor Singh Sandhu and Mata Basant Kaur Sandhu in the village of Sanewhal, Punjab. She was the fourth eldest of six children, four boys and two girls. She graduated from middle school in Sanewhal.
She married Professor Ghamanda Singh Gill, of Village Sudhar, in 1951. She immigrated to Canada in 1981 and spent the majority of her years since in Canada.
At 5:23pm on November 12th, she left peacefully for her heavenly abode surrounded by family. She was three months shy of her 90th birthday. She lived a long, healthy and happy life. She leaves behind a large family; her husband Professor Ghamanda Singh Gill, four children; Khushpal Singh Gill, Daljeet Kaur Dhillon, Jaskiran Kaur Virk and Rupinder Singh Gill. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday November 20, 2016 at 11:00am at the Five Rivers Funeral Home located at 7410 Hopcott Road in Delta. An Antam Ardaas Bhog & Sahej Paath will follow at 1:00pm at Khalsa Diwan Society Surrey – York Centre Gurdwara located on 128 Street and 80 Avenue in Surrey.
