Olympian Arjan Bhullar’s First UFC Fight Set For September In Edmonton At UFC 216

Olympian and Commonwealth Games wrestling Gold Medal champion Arjan Singh Bhullar recently made sports history by becoming the first Sikh-Indo-Canadian to be signed by the world renowned big fight game Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is now set to make his UFC debut in Canada this September in Edmonton at UFC 216, it was announced Wednesday. He said he is super excited about his entry into UFC. Bhullar said he is ready to make his name in the upper echelons of the fight game. LINK editor R. RICHMOND – Olympian and 2010 Commonwealth Games wrestling Gold Medal champion Arjan Singh Bhullar recently made sports history by becoming the first Sikh-Indo-Canadian to be signed by the world renowned big fight game Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

On Wednesday, UFC made it official that Bhullar will put his undefeated record on the line against Luis “KLB” Henrique (10-3, 1 NC; 2-2 UFC) at UFC 216 on Sept. 9 at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Bhullar, the current Battlefield Fight League heavyweight champion, has amassed a perfect 6-0 record since turning pro in late 2014 following his successful international wrestling career and a lone amateur bout.

Bhullar, who recently won his 6th straight Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight and retained his heavyweight belt against a tough American opponent Joe Yager, signed with UFC this week and was immediately invited to their Vegas headquarters for meet and greet and take part in their annual Athletes Retreat conference and showcase.

He said he is super excited about his entry into UFC. Bhullar said he is ready to make his name in the upper echelons of the fight game.

Brand-D-Media-Box-ADRichmond native Bhullar, who becomes the first ever South Asian fighter to be signed to UFC, has been busy on Facebook since making the breaking the news that he has signed on the dotted line with the biggest mixed martial arts fight game in the world.

“I will proudly represent the Maple Leaf and be the ambassador for over 1.7 billion South Asians,” he stated on his Facebook page. “I fully appreciate the significance of this moment, and understand the seriousness of the task at hand. We will prepare accordingly.”

Bhullar has been posting all weekend about his adventure to the UFC’s headquarters in Las Vegas which is playing host of some of the biggest sports stars including Lakers’ great Kobe Bryant and Hollywood showbiz power players like super agent  Ari Emanuel, who heads the top Hollywood talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WMC).

Emanuel is also the current head of the UFC, which his company acquired as part of their dominance of the sports talent game.
