Surrey RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in a motor vehicle collision that occurred on 2023-11-25, in the District 3 (Newton) area of Surrey.
On 2023-11-25 at approximately 2124 hours, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 128th street and 82nd avenue.
A white Ford Mustang was travelling south bound on 128th street, while a black Toyota Corolla was north bound on 128th street. At the intersection of 82nd avenue, the black Corolla executed a left hand, west-bound turn, into the path of the Mustang. The subsequent collision caused significant damage to both vehicles.
The male driver of the Mustang was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. The adult male passenger of the Corolla was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition and has since succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at hospital.
The driver of the Corolla fled the scene on foot. The driver was described as a South Asian male in his 20’s, wearing a grey hoodie and jeans.
Alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors, and the investigation into the collision is in the very early stages.
