Private TV channels of the country havebeen authorized to air only 10% foreigncontent and 60% of that 10% should beIndian.

ISLAMABAD -Ten entertainment televisionchannels in Pakistan have been slapped with Rs 10million fine for airing excessive Indian and foreigncontent, a media report said on Monday.Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authorityimposed the fine on the channels and issuedwarning letters to them to desist from such practicein future, The News report said.It quoted a document of Ministry ofInformation, Broadcasting and National Heritage,as saying that the local channels were airing excessiveIndian content, much more than the prescribedlimits.PEMRA monitoring system is working round theclock to ensure the compliance of code of conductand code of advertising, the report said.Private TV channels of the country have beenauthorized to air only 10 per cent foreign contentand 60 per cent of that 10 per cent should beIndian or other content and 40 per cent of the 10per cent may be English content.The channels that have been fined include HumTV, Oxygen TV , Play TV, KohinoorEntertainment, TV One Entertainment, NTVEntertainment, GXM Entertainment, JalwaEntertainment.
