SURREY – Surrey Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were advised of a large altercation that was occurring in the parking lot of a Banquet Hall located in the 12000 Block of Nordel Way, Surrey on Friday, November 4th, just before midnight,.
Police Officers attended to the scene, and observed a large group in the parking lot, with four persons who were suffering from wounds as a result of an assault with a weapon.
A total of five persons, were transported to hospital, with various degrees of injury. None of them had life threatening injuries.
One of the victims was an elderly female that had been knocked down during the altercation, suffering a broken arm, plus some other injuries as a result of being knocked down.
This had been a large family function that had been occurring in the Banquet Hall, when some of the attendees had gotten into a dispute inside of the hall, which had spilled out into the parking lot.
Once outside a physical altercation had taken place, and what is believed to be a knife was produced, and used by one of the persons involved in the fight. All of the persons involved in the altercation are known to each other and had been invited to the family function.
A suspect has not yet been identified, but witnesses are still being spoken. A canvas is presently being conducted for possible video footage of the altercation
