Pavanbar Paul Mannan shot inside SUV in an alleyway in Whalley

Homicide investigators have identified Pavanbar Paul Mannan as the victim of Surrey’s latest homicide. 

Mannan, 29, was shot inside a Ford Edge SUV in an alleyway north of 96 Avenue, near 130 Street in the Whalley neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon, said the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Surrey RCMP were called to the area after a report of the shooting. Members attended and located an unresponsive man inside a vehicle. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased on scene. 

Investigators are still trying to determine the motive behind the shooting and have not released any further details on the victim.

Shortly after shooting, at 5:25 p.m., the Surrey RCMP received reports of a vehicle fire near 82A Avenue and 152A Street, in which a grey Subaru Forrester was located burnt. 

Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT said, “If you have information and have yet to speak to police regarding this investigation, please contact IHIT immediately. If you were in either area between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and have dash-camera video, please contact IHIT immediately.”
