SUVA – People caught drinking and driving or behaving in a violent manner will not be tolerated and will be locked up. This is the stern message from the Fiji Police Force as we approach Christmas parties during the festive season.

Police spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said everyone should ensure that they behave in a responsible manner.

Sokomuri said they are also hoping that this year, the domestic violence cases will drop during the festive season with the Domestic Violence now in force.

The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre confirms that two weeks ago their Suva centre alone saw a total of 40 cases in relation to domestic violence.
