PICS Society Appoints Raminder Kang, Kanika Mehra as New Directors to Strengthen Community Leadership

The Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society (PICS) has appointment two new directors to its leadership team as the organization continues to expand its services and outreach within the community.
Dr. Raminder Kang has been appointed as the Director of Settlement & Integration Services. With nearly twenty years of experience in the social service sector, Raminder began his career as a front-line worker and has recently served as Senior Manager for Settlement and Integration Services at PICS. He is actively involved as a volunteer with the Inter-Cultural Online health Network (iCON), a community-driven initiative that promotes chronic disease prevention and management for multicultural communities across British Columbia.
In addition, Kang has served as a Master Trainer with the Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs offered by the University of Victoria, delivering workshops across the province. He also hosts a daily two-hour evening talk show on South Asian Radio, allowing him to stay attuned to community issues and concerns. Raminder holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Arts, and he serves on the Board of Directors for The Canada Urdu Association, promoting the Urdu language in British Columbia.
Kanika Mehra has been appointed as Director of Youth Programs and Community Services. With over seven years of experience in the non-profit sector, Kanika brings a wealth of expertise in program development, project management, and strategic planning. Her commitment to supporting clients from diverse cultural backgrounds enables her to facilitate employment opportunities and life skills training, fostering successful integration into Canadian society.
Kanika holds multiple professional designations, including PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-PBA, and PMI-ACP, which reflect her strong foundation in project management, risk analysis, business strategy, and agile methodologies. Since joining PICS in 2018, her passion for youth empowerment and community advocacy has made a lasting, positive impact on both the organization and the communities it serves.
These appointments are an exciting development for PICS Society, reinforcing its dedication to enhancing community services and support for individuals and families in need.
