Proactive enforcement targeting dangerous driving behaviors in Strawberry Hill area

Surrey RCMP South Community Response Unit (CRU) has been conducting targeted enforcement to address the dangerous driving behaviors in the Strawberry Hill area.
In the beginning of September, South CRU began a targeted enforcement operation to address the concerns regarding driving behaviors in the Strawberry Hill area. Officers conducted over 150 vehicle traffic stops, in which 56 violation tickets were issued, 7 vehicles impounded, 3 Prohibited Drivers charged, 2 Immediate Roadside Prohibition issued, 1 Drug Investigation and 3 files for street racing and stunting.
“Our aim is to target the dangerous driving behaviors in the Strawberry Hill area. The goal of this enforcement is to educate and enhance road safety for the drivers and pedestrians of the shopping complex,” said Sergeant Robert Keay, South Community Response Unit.
Anyone who wishes to report any dangerous driving behavior or suspicious activity in the area is requested to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 to speak with a police officer.
