Dear Editor:
In the passing away of Hasmat Ali, BCMA has lost not only an able administrator and an institution- builder but also a visionary volunteer who was an inspirational figure for Canadians.
People owe a debt of gratitude to Hasmat Ali for his contribution to community development and progress in every facet of human life.
As a valiant member of an organisation, he served the community for more than five decades. He fulfilled his responsibility with diligence when he was a chairperson of Surrey-Delta branch.
To raise from ashes the Surrey Jamiah Mosque, accomplished school project, assisted public affairs and other community work under taken by his leadership were admirable. His supreme aim in life was to serve community with honesty and integrity.
Canadian community will remember him for his sincere devotion, princely sacrifices and great qualities of organisation and inspiration.
Farewell Hasmat Ali , Your legacy will be difficult to erase.
May the departed soul rest in peace.
