Shots fired at two houses in Newton, police looking for South Asian men

Two shootings in less than two days rocked the Newton residential area in Surrey. Both the shootings targeted houses, and vehicles parked outside the houses and took place in close vicinity.

Surrey Police Service informed that fist shooting took place on Sunday, December at approximately 1:30 am. Shots were fired outside of a residence in the 7700 block 126A Street, Surrey. Several residents were inside asleep at the time and no one was injured.

Surrey Police Service officers, with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), discovered that both a vehicle parked in the driveway and the side of the house were struck by several bullets. 

Two suspects, described as adults wearing dark clothing, were seen running away. The investigation is ongoing and being led by Surrey Police Services’ Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST).

The second shooting happened just before 6 pm on Monday, December 16 that has left two people injured.  Surrey Police received a call from a woman saying that she and her husband had been shot while outside in the 12600 block 67B Ave, Surrey. In their car nearby, was a young child who was unharmed. Both victims have been taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Two suspects, described as adult South Asian men, were last seen driving away in a dark-coloured sedan.

 The investigation is in its early stages and is being supported by RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit Serious Crime Unit and General Investigation Unit officers, as well as Surrey Police Service’s Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST).
