Surrey RCMP reported that at approximately 2300hrs (11pm) on Aug 4th, shots were fired in the 14400 block of 72nd avenue. Upon arrival, responding officers located an unoccupied business that had several bullet holes in it. No persons were injured during the incident.
The investigation is progressing and investigators are seeking out surveillance video and interviewing witnesses and property representatives. The motive for the incident is currently unknown.

Another shooting in the Cloverdale area left one male with non-life-threatening injuries. On August 3rd, 2024 at approximately 08:41 am, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a male suffering from a gun shot wound in an encampment located in the 5300 block of 180th Street.
The Surrey RCMP General Investigations Unit has conduct of the investigation, and investigators are working to determine all of the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Evidence-gathering is still underway, but initial indications are this was a targeted, isolated incident.
