The well liked Punjabi broadcaster and retail management professional Kuldip Singh and his Sikh Youth Vancouver challenged their chief opponent United Sikh Youth to implement their manifesto of not removing tables and chairs at their backers held temples and if they do so – their slate would withdraw from next Saturday’s elections.

They stated again that Sikh Youth Vancouver did not run for this election for political takeover but to address the needs of our community.

Kuldip Singh was born in Punjab, India, originating from Dist. Patiala.  He is a Canadian Citizen and have been living in Canada for the past 16 years.  In Canada, Singh further studied retail management with Southland Corporation.

“In Canada I have been in retail business.  I live with my family in Richmond.  I have a daughter, a son and 2 beautiful grandchildren.  I am a proud father and a proud nana ji.  Both of my children have finished school, are married and settled.  I am a people person and have been involved in the community since I started my life in Canada. ”

He has been working as a Punjabi radio as a Host  since 2003 with his programs a”Gurbani Vichar” and “Dillan Dee Saanjh”.

” I am a person that likes to bring awareness about different topics.  I discuss health, Sikhi, Sikh history, general history and the day to day issues.  I like to help people and bring awareness in our community.

“I am, with the grace of God, a successful business owner of Husky Gas stations and a successful realtor.  I am very passionate about my work and am very family oriented.  I am a Amritdhari Gursikh, believes in Ek Granth, Ek Panth, and Ek Rehat Maryada. ”

He said he never thought he would run for any executive position for a Gurdwara committee, but a year ago he came in contact with the Sikh Youth Vancouver and he liked their vision

“I am honored to be involved with a group of individuals that have done so much and yet did not even run for any positions.  It’s their hard work and encouragement that has made this team such a huge success.  I look forward to serving the needs of our community and addressing the immediate attention that the Gurdwara and the religious programming is in need of.

“Furthermore, we will fulfill all the short term goals in our manifesto in 16 months or we will resign from our positions.  This is not just a Committee or group seeking to run a Gurdwara with political rhetoric on a silver plate.  This is a movement.  Committees have come and gone.  We will make a change.”

He clarified that his group is not affiliated with any Gurdwara or group.

“Sikh Youth Vancouver is an independent body that has been working to ensure a fair and transparent election process as Khalsa Diwan Society Vancouver.  For these reason many prominent individuals from our community have joined this movement.  On Nov. 20 at South Hall in Vancouver at 2 pm everyone is invited to meet the hard working team and the prominent supporters.”
