SURREY – Surrey-based authorof Sikh encyclopedia DrRaghbir Singh Bains has made itto list of the top 100 Sikhs inthe world.At the 92nd spot in 2013’s top100 Sikhs’ list, as posted on thewebsite – The Sikh 100 – it is DrBains’ maidenentry on the list,which boasts ofhaving the 100most powerfuland influentialSikhs in theworld.Founder andproducer of thefirst of its kind”Encyclopaediaof Sikhism” onM u l t i m e d i aTechnology inthe world whichwas released bythe then Prime Minister ofCanada in the Parliament Houseon December 11, 1996. DrBains is global record holder for”setting up five Multimedia SikhMuseums” in the world.With Sikh tenets entrenched inhis heart and a special eyetowards the problems and needsof the young (across the world),he has worked against the menaceof addiction, against humantrafficking, prostitution and sexualexploitation and for thecause of propagating Sikh historyin his efforts panning variouscountries.Listed on the website as an educationist,his “Nishan-e-SikhiProject” based at KhadoorSahib is a silent educationalrevolutionin the region, providingeducation tothousands of ruralstudents at a verylow fees and in ajob-oriented manner.Along withnumerous awardsfor his vast field ofworks in Punjab andIndia, he has beenhonoured with theQueen II’s GoldenJubilee Medal by theGovernment ofCanada in the year 2012 and theprestigious Order of BritishColumbia, Government ofBritish Columbia, Canada, in2005.
