I very much appreciate the article in LINK (August 20 Edition) “Who do Indo-Canadians owe their allegiance to – India or Canada?” by Bhupinder Singh Liddar. Thank you for exposing the selfish opportunists (the national character of majority of Indians). Their divided and split loyalties has been proven again and again when so many touts on Indian government’s take write letters to Canadian politicians and mainstream Canadian media against the Canadian Sikhs specially since the Indian army attack on Darbar Sahib and 40 other Gurdwaras in 1984 followed by torture killings, and disappearances by police conducting Genocide of a brave people and a Nation that sacrificed their all for the independence of India only to become slaves in their own land. Many of us have become refugees to save our lives from Police torture there.
Indian diplomats in Canada throw (crumbs) to many people benefiting them directly and indirectly in many ways to make them dance to their tunes. I have seen old retired army officers taking photos with the Indian diplomats on 15 August just to please the diplomat so they issue them the live certificate for claiming army pensions in India. Here in Canada they get old age pensions and other benefits and supplements etc. This is called double dipping. However they have to please the diplomats so they do not get difficulty in getting the Live certificate. There are many other indirect benefits provided to NRIs to make them participate in public activities arranged by the Indian diplomats. Many of these shameless immigrants from India have no loyalty towards either Canada or even India. This time many of the politicians who distributed fraudulent congratulations to please the Indian diplomats, are not going to get the votes of proud Canadians who know where their loyalties lies.
