Legend has it that Ponce de Leon was on a mission. Miracles do happen and the lady at the centre of The Age of Adaline proves that youth can live on forever.  Romance addicts will surely get their fill thanks to this EOne Entertainment  event movie.  By all means go arm in arm, hand in hand to experience this enduring cinematic marvel at the Fifth Avenue Cinemas.

Time has a way of growing on you.  Or in the case of one Adaline Bowman standing still. Able to convey timeless beauty is Blake Lively who in a fluke of nature and science has her character’s appearance stay constant our time. While Adaline’s strikingly gorgeous looks remain the same through  the decades all those things (and people) around her change.

Because of this freak of nature the young woman becomes a master of disguise, constantly running away from her past and treading oh so very carefully on the present and Into the future. Lost  (or perhaps best described as caught)   In the shuffle are family and friends  – and lovers.

Smart writing and a great use of historical moments captured in newsreel footage turn The Age of Adaline into a whimsical, wistful treat. Full of joy and heartache and ample melancholy moments this moody three hanky movie also benefits from the strong presence of aging actor heavyweights Harrison Ford (Star Wars) and Ellen Burstyn,
