Daljit Thind, one of the top Indo-Canadiandevelopers in Vancouver, has seenhis profile slowly rise, beginning withthe announcement of his two big highrise projects in Vancouver, followed byhis partnership with Time of India FilmAwards (TOIFA) earlier this year thatraised his profile globally, including inIndia. Now he gets local mainstream recognitionwith a profile in Business In Vancouver,which is great for Thind but alsogenerally good for all Indo-Canadiansdoing well in business in greater Vancouver.There may be more mainstreamrecognition in store for Thind, who studiedin Punjab to be a pharmacist but whodecided to embark on a career as a developerin Canada after the usual hasslesimmigrants face of their credentialrecognition. “Nice-guy” Thind, who has$300 million worth of real estate on thedrawing board in Metro Vancouver andis considering embarking on projects inIndia, may even make Vancouver Magazine’sannual Power 50 List next year.
