Interim Conservative leader Rona Ambrose joined over 40,000 Sikhs from across Canada to take part in Toronto’s Naga Kirtan, the annual Khalsa Day celebration.  Ambrose gathered with community members in the spirit of unity to celebrate and commemorate the founding of Khalsa, which was established in 1699 by the 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Joined by MP Bob Saroya and former MP Bal Gosal, Ambrose gave remarks honouring the principles of Sikhism: “Today, we gather to honour the birth of the Khalsa, and the principles behind the ‘five Ks’ of Sikhism: Justice, equality, courage, honesty, peace and service to others.

It’s wonderful to see all the seva here today. These principles are well known not just to Canada’s vibrant Sikh community, but to all Canadians.”
