SUVA – Ron and Jan Taylor believe clothes shops in Suva need to stock larger sizes after having difficulties finding clothes that fit them.

The New Zealanders who now reside in Australia were passengers on board the Volendam, a Vancouver-based cruise ship that docked at Suva’s wharf for a few hours yesterday.

A worker of Pacific Agencies, the company that handled the Volendam’s local arrangements, said the ship, which carried 1377 passengers, was on a world tour with Noumea being the next stop.

Taylor and her husband said they were enjoying their Suva shopping experience but lamented the lack of larger-sized clothing and cotton-based garments as opposed to nylon of which they saw a lot.

“A majority of the passengers on board our ship are elderly retirees, many of whom wear large-sized clothing,” Taylor said.

“They have money to spend but it’s a pity that not all your shops stock their sizes.
