New Brunswick RCMP informed in a release that a 19-year-old man and two 23-year-old women, all from Moncton, died as the result of a single-vehicle crash in Mill Cove, N.B. on July 27.
The police have yet to reveal the identity of the deceased. Local South Asian Community in NB identified them as Navjot Somal aged 19 years, Harman Somal and Resham Judge aged 23 years.
Indians in Halifax, group dedicated to local Halifax community, wrote on its Facebook page, “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you all that Navjot Somal, age 19, Harman Somal and Rasham Judge, age 23, all residents of Moncton, New Brunswick, have died been involved in a car accident. Due to this accident, a wave of grief has spread throughout the community. We pray to God to give strength to the family to bear this sad time.”
Rajpreet Somal has created a link on GoFundme to raise funds to help bring the bodies of the three to their families. “My brother came from India a few months ago on a study permit, sister are working in Day Care in Moncton, they Died Yesterday in car accident near Oromocto. New Brunswick. The family needs funds to send their body back to India,” Rajpreet wrote.
The police said the crash is believed to have occurred when the vehicle, traveling Westbound, lost a tire causing the driver to lose control and left the highway. The three passengers were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene as a result of their injuries.
