Uk Parliament Gets New All- Party Hindu Group


LONDON – A new All PartyParliamentary Group (APPG)for Hindus has been establishedin the UK to represent the interestsof the community membersin the country. Conservativeparty MP Bob Blackman hasbeen elected as the APPG’s chairwith British Indian Labour MPsVirendra Sharma as vice-chairand Seema Malhotra as secretary.“I have been working towardsthe creation of a strongforum for British Hindus to interactwith Parliament since beingelected, so I am delightedthat this group has now formedand is receiving a lot of supportacross the board,” said Blackman.Over 23 MPs and Lordshad signed up to be a qualifyingmember after a notice issued bythe Hindu Lawyers Association(HLA).
