The day includes topics that could assist our seniors in everyday living and ways to keep themselves safe from those that would take advantage of them and or cause them harm.

Senior Health & Safety Fair

Date: June 8th 2022

Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Where: Creekside Community Centre located at 1 Athletes Way (Gym)

This is an educational fair and no solicitation will be allowed on site.

The event is free to all seniors, their families, and caregivers and will include snacks and a lunch. Everyone is welcome. The first 300 people will receive a swag bag and there will be door prizes and draws throughout the day.Dedicated parking for this event is not provided, however there is parking in the area.

Come What May: Programs Offered by the Delta Libraries

Calling all teens! Paper, puzzles and poetry – check out these May programs for teens. Register for monthly online Teen Paper Crafts on Thursday, May 5, from 4 pm – 5 pm to learn and share techniques about paper artistry!

There is a different paper craft-themed idea every month, where we will talk about materials, methods, resources, art makers, and then share our results! This month, we will discuss Paper Blooms & Paper Creatures making ideas. Join us for mindful and positive making ideas! Do you prefer word crafting instead? Try our virtual Teen Poetry Café on Monday, May 30, from 3:15 pm – 4 pm. Come prepared to recite an original poem you have crafted, share a poem from a favourite poet, learn about different poetry styles, and even try your hand at a poem of your own!

Calling all families! Word Nerds will have you playing a fun game of word scrambles on Monday, May 16, from 3:30 pm – 4 pm. Players receive a series of scrambled letters to make as many words as possible in a set amount of time. Challenge your mind, memory and vocabulary! Compete as a team or as an individual for some wholesome, family-friendly fun!

Calling all kids! Join for Young Writers on Wednesday, May 18, from 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm. Explore your imagination and develop your creative writing skills. Enjoy creative writing activities, story games, and writing challenges. A program for children ages 9-12.
