Friends Of Overseas BJP

Overseas Friends of Bhartiya Janta Party (OF BJP) is a Socio-political organization that represents BJP in Canada with an objective of promoting cultural, business and political cooperation between two countries. We are celebrating 68th Independence Day of India on August 15th, 6 PM to 9 PM at Bombay Banquet Hall -7475 135 St, Surrey, BC V3W 5A8.  We will be joined by the Global President of OFBJP Mr. Vijay Jolly from New Delhi and Consul General of India-Vancouver along with many other distinguished business leaders, talented artists and a large number of Indo Canadian Diaspora.

This event will provide unique opportunity to further strengthen cultural ties between India and Canada as many of the local artists will get opportunity to showcase their talent in various art forms including Bharat Natyam ( A classical dance from Southern India), Bhangra (A folk dance from Punjab), Ghazal (Popular Urdu poetry from Northern India) and Tabla (A classical percussion instrument ).

The 41st annual Chariot Festival of India also known Jagannath Rath Yatra taking place in Downtown Vancouver on August 10th. This colourful and fun-filled Cultural PARADE starts at 11:30 AM from Beach ave. at Howe St. (under the Granville St Bridge) and travelling along Beach Avenue culminates at Stanley Park 2nd Beach 1:00 PM.
