CHANDIGARH – Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal, has ordered a new survey of Blue Card holders (beneficiaries of Atta-Daal program) to include all eligible poor families that are not currently benefiting from the program.

While reviewing welfare programs, Badal reported that he was receiving allegations that certain eligible poor families were left out during the old survey of the program and were unable to reap the benefits. He asked Principal Secretary to Chief Minister S.K. Sandhu to issue directions to all Deputy Commissioners in the state to launch a fresh survey of the program to include all eligible poor families. Badal also said that a door-to-door survey should be organized in every village and town to ensure that no poor family was excluded.

The Atta-Daal scheme is a flagship program of SAD-BJP Government, and according to the Chief Minister, is the only program in the country that provides 16,000 families with getting 35kg of wheat and 4 kg of pulses under highly subsidized rates.

Badal also insisted that every beneficiary family of the program should get the allocated ration by the seventh of every month.
