They have been playing hide and seek for a long time but now the news is out. Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji have finally made it official and have gotten married. A statement from Yash Raj films read: “We are happy to announce that Mr. Aditya Chopra and Ms. Rani Mukerji got married last night on 21st April in Italy. The wedding was a very small intimate affair with very close family and friends. We wish the couple a very happy married life!”
While the rumours of the couple having zeroed in on a date has been making the rounds for a while now, the duo has pleasantly surprised everyone with their secret wedding. Earlier it was reported that they would get married on Valentine’s Day but that proved to be a false alarm. The Rani-Aditya romance has kept Bollywood abuzz for many years but the actress always denied it. Aditya Chopra, on the other hand, was very reclusive and would hardly ever be seen in the media. It was last year during a function to honour Yash Chopra that Shatrughan Sinha let the cat out of the bag when he reportedly called the actress ‘Rani Chopra’. Thereafter came reports of Pamela Chopra, Aditya’s mother, bonding with Rani’s family openly during the festival season. Aditya was earlier married to interior designer Payal and it was said that the senior Chopras didn’t approve of his relationship with Rani earlier. But the couple has surely come a long way since then and have made it official.
