A Successful Free Eye Health Clinic Held At York Centre.

Surrey – A successful ‘Free Eye Health Clinic’ was held at Khalsa Dewan Society Gurdwara Sahib York Centre on June 15, 2014. The clinic was arranged by Canadian Eyesight Global

Eyes of over 126 people were screened by a team of eminent Eye Surgeon Dr. David R.S. Neima, MS, FRCS(C). Ophthl, vice President of overseas programs, Canadian Eyesight Global and Dr. Warren Whitford.

Mr. and Mrs. Dilbag Singh Gujaral, President, Gujaral Group of Companies, were the Chief Guests. Greeting message was sent by His Worship Mayor Derek Corrigan, Burnaby City Hall and Honourary Director of Canadian Eyesight Global which was presented to the administration of Gurdwara Sahib, Khalsa Diwan Society Surrey. BC, by Mr. Dilbag Singh Gujaral.

The patients with major eye problems were referred to the eye specialists, and free eye drops were given to the patients.

It is mentioned here that the Eye Screening service is not covered by the Govt. BC. Medical Plan. This service is provided free of charge by Canadian Eyesight Global

Canadian Eyesight Global, formerly Project Eyesight-India, has successfully sponsored and completed over 100,000 free cataract surgeries and over 500,000 people have been treated for avoidable blindness in various parts of Punjab and other parts of India since 1989. It has been organizing free eye health clinics in Greater Vancouver since 2004 and will be celebrating their 25th anniversary this year in September 2014.
