Canadian Eyesight Global partnered  with Canadian National Institute of Blind (CNIB) established since 1918, organizing a Free Eye Health Clinic on Sunday April 12, 2015, time  1:00-4:00pm. at the Nanak Niwas Sikh Temple, 8600-No.5 Road. Richmond. BC.

Canadian Eyesight Global formerly Project Eyesight-India, has celebrated  its 25th. anniversary on September 26, 2014. The organization  has successfully sponsored and organized thousands of people for free cataract surgeries and treated unlimited people for avoidable blindness in rural parts of India, since 1989, joined by over 250 Rotary Clubs, local eye hospitals and dedicated volunteers in India. Canadian Eyesight global has moved this humanitarian work forward. This noble Eye Project has been recognized by Government of Canada,  Rotary International and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) in Canada and India.

A dedicated team of eminent eye surgeons including  Dr. David R.S. Neima, MD, FRCS(C).,Ophthl., Vice President Canadian Eyesight Global will participate in the Free Eye Health Clinic, for  eye  exams. Patients with serious eye problems  shall be referred to the specialists eye surgeons for further investigation and treatment. Free Eye drops shall be given to the needy patients. Canadian Eyesight Global has been organizing Free Eye Health Clinics in BC, since 2004.

CNIB is pleased to partner with Canadian Eyesight Global and would participate  at  present and in future Free Eye Health Clinic in establishing CNIB information tables. CNIB information tables  would be a perfect compliment at the Free Eye Health Clinic  by proving valuable CNIB new strategic plan: “The Path to Change” to individuals who may not otherwise have access to it. More than 2,000 children under 12 and their families rely on CNIB and their families each year. CNIB deliver complimentary programs and services that empower people who are blind or partially sighted to achieve their goals and reach their highest potential. CNIB provide access to products and technology that enables people to lead fuller, more independent lives.

Canadian Eyesight Global urges Canadians to get regular eye exams once a year or as early detection is key for leading causes of vision loss. Wet age related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic  macular edema (DME) are most common causes of vision loss and according to the World Health Organization 75% percent  are preventable or treatable, if detected early. Many eye diseases have no symptoms and only be detected through an eye exam.

Appeal for the Proposed Eye Hospital in Punjab: Canadian Eyesight Global seeking the support from NRI’s for the establishment of a primary care Eye Hospital and Prevention Blindness Centre, We appeal to NRI’s to donate a piece of property, land or building  at a suitable location in Punjab, to help the needy, helpless  and less fortunate people of rural areas of Punjab for the restoration of eyesight and prevention of preventable blindness.                                                You may contact: Anup S.
