Federal Minister Sohi’s Father Laid To Rest In Punjab

SANGRUR – Gurbakhash Singh Sohi (101), father of Amarjeet Singh Sohi, who is the federal Infrastructure minister in Justin Trudeau’s government, was cremated Thursday at Banbhaura village near Malerkotla.

He passed away on February 16 after prolonged illness.

Amarjeet Singh today reached Banbhaura village from Canada along with other family members.

Banbhaura village once again came to limelight after Amarjeet Singh was sworn in as minister for infrastructure in the Canada Government on November 4, 2015.

Earlier, Banbhaura was popular as it is the village of in-laws of actor Dharmendra.

Besides Amarjeet Singh, his two brothers Jagdev Singh Sohi and Harkesh Singh Sohi, Amargarh MLA Iqbal Singh Jhundan, Malerkotla SDM Amit Bambi, Malerkotla SP Jaswinder Singh, sarpanch of Banbhaura village Darshan Singh, AAP leader Jasbir Singh Jassi Sekhon and SGPC member Jaipal Singh Mandian were also present.
