GUWAHATI – The UK, Canada and Australia have issued advisories asking their citizens to avoid visiting five north-eastern states, parts of Jammu & Kashmir and the India-Pakistan border.
The three countries updated their advisories on Friday mentioning Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Nagaland.

The advisories have asked people to either cancel or reconsider their visit to the northeast citing militant attacks like shooting of 14 people in Assam’s Kokrajhar last month and the killing of 18 soldiers in Manipur last year.
A large number of tourists from the three countries visit the region and Assam’s Kaziranga National Park, home to one-horned rhinoceros, in particular.
