Aleppo and Syria is one of the most significant development of our time.  This can be called a turning point in history. This defeat will change the power equations in the Middle East and the balance of power in the world. Europe and the Middle East can be called the most important regions of the world. Europe is the birth place of capitalism and still remains the most developed continent of the world. The Middle East is the region which makes the largest amount of oil available to the western countries. Oil is the life line of the modern industrial society.                                                                                                                                      The battle of Aleppo in Syria can be compared to the battle of Dien Bien Phu in Vietnam.  Both the battles created history and proved to be big setbacks to western domination, arrogance and hegemony. The year 2016 will also go down in history as the year which brought the end of the American Era. A new axis of Russia-Iran-Turkey has emerged and this has completely changed the equations of power in the Middle East. Egypt, the most populated country in the Arab world is also leaning toward Russia. This leaves Saudi Arabia, the biggest American ally in the Arab world, in a very bad shape. Saudi Arabia had put its money and prestige on line by asserting that it will get rid of Assad. The Saudis seem to have done more harm to the Arab unity and to the cause of Islam than any other country. They helped the western countries in bringing down the Arab nationalists such as Saddam in Iraq and Gaddafi in Libya. They have also promoted extremely dogmatic  Wahhabism  instead of tolerant Islam.                                                                                                                               George Bush started the ill fated American policy of getting America involved in making a mess in the Middle East. He pushed Iraq to chaos, anarchy and destruction. Obama, who posed himself as a peace loving liberal, continued enthusiastically the ill conceived policies of Bush. When Hillary joined his team, they tried to beat bush in barbarity and ruthlessness by getting Gaddafi killed more brutally than Saddam. If Hillary were elected, she would have tried to beat her own record by trying to get Assad killed in Syria. However this time instead of getting Assad killed she could have exposed America to a nuclear retaliation by Russia. It took a rightist Trump to save America and the world from the most devastating nuclear war.                                                                                                                                                   We certainly hope that Trump will continue to move away from the policies of arrogance, domination and hegemony which his predecessors pursued and will continue the policy of reconciliation with Russia. He should quickly end all the sanctions against Russia. We also hope that he should stop provoking China. He should not even try to draw a wedge between Russia and China because their alliance is very strong and they both understand that they can only match the America’s strength by sticking together. Russia’s victory in Syria should reinforce Trump’s view that it is better to work with Russia than against it. .
