ESL Book Clubs at Surrey Libraries
“The ESL Book Clubs help us improve our English, learn about Canada, and make new friends from all over the world,” say participants of Surrey Libraries’ ESL book clubs. Book clubs are free, fun, and friendly. If you would like to practice your English and make new friends, join Surrey Libraries’ ESL Book Clubs. Come practice reading, speaking, and listening in English. Readers are welcome at any level from beginners to advanced. Library books will be provided (Levels 1-4). Call or visit the libraries to register.

The Himalaya Program is pleased to announce our fourth event of 2017 on Monday, March 13th from 5-7pm in Room 102 of the Frederic Lasserre Building, UBC. The event is a screening of Kesang Tseten’s Trembling Mountain, a new documentary on Nepal’s Langtang Valley following the 2015 earthquakes.

Indian Classical Concert
Indian classical and thumri concert featuring Smt Indrani Mukherjee will be held Saturday, April 1 at Burnaby Hall. This will be an Indian Classical Music and Thumri concert by Smt. Indrani Mukherjee, accompanied by Pandit Ramesh Misra on Sarangi and Sri Apurba Mukherjee on Tabla.
Magician Gary Savard knows what makes children laugh. Bring the entire family to this fast-paced interactive magic show on Thursday, March 16, from 2 pm – 2:45 pm. On Wednesday, March 22, from 10:30 – 11:15 am, school aged kids (5+) are invited to learn How to Amuse and Amaze Your Friends with magic tricks, science facts and more! Plus this year, Storytime (Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 am – 11 am), Babytime (Thursdays, 10:30 am – 11 am), and LEGO Club (Thursdays, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm) continues through Spring Break.
