RCMP Release Sketch Of A Turbaned South Asian Man Allegedly Involved In Suspiciously Approaching a Child

The Surrey RCMP describes the suspect as a South Asian man who may be in his 40’s or younger. He has a trimmed beard with grey patches and was wearing a blue turban with orange underneath.

SURREY – Surrey RCMP released composite sketch of suspicious person who allegedly approached a child in Surrey

Surrey RCMP are investigating a suspicious person who approached a child who was waiting outside of a school in Surrey.

Mounties say the child was standing in front of Frost Road Elementary School on 162 Street around 1:00 p.m. on May 14th when the suspect drove up and tried to convince them to get in his car.

The child refused and instead was able to run to a safe place.

The suspect is described as a South Asian male, in his 40’s or younger in age, with a trimmed beard which had grey patches, and wearing a blue turban with orange underneath

The suspect vehicle is described as a grey sedan with tinted windows and a messy interior.

Officers are reminding young people and children to take the necessary safety precautions. Kids are reminded not to take short cuts, always walk with friends, and make sure someone knows where they’re going and when they will be back.

Police add children should never help strangers, always trust their instincts and phone if their plans change or if they get delayed.
