A number of Indo-Canadian seniors enjoy their time at India Cultural Centre of Canada’s Gurdwara Nanak Niwas. Jointly sponsored by the Gurdwara and Richmond Multicultural Community Services (RMCS), the Chai Chaupal program encourages them to meet at the Gurdwara every Monday morning.  Some of them participate in a yoga session conducted by instructor Nashattar Singh Matharu. From yoga they go directly to the library for an enjoyable discussion about the current issues affecting the community. Once or twice a month, the group is treated to a seminar about health and other issues. Last Monday, January 25, the group welcomed well known Richmond lawyer Morley Levitt. Mr. Levitt specializes in wills and estates. He dealt in detail with the need and procedure for drafting a will and related issues. The participants were very impressed with his presentation and found it to be very helpful.

On Wednesday, January 27, a number of senior Indo Canadian women visited Minoru Senior Centre to learn about the services provided by the Centre. The Minoru staff and volunteers did an impressive job in interacting with them and informing the visitors about the multiple services the Centre provides for seniors.

These are just some of the services that RMCS provides.RMCS’s Indo-Canadian Settlement worker Karamjit Kaur Jagdeo has been doing an excellent job in helping new immigrants and seniors. She would be pleased to hear from you at 604-279-7160.
