Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said PCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh was not an authority to give a clean chit to anyone accused of involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Talking to The Tribune on the sidelines of his Sangat Darshan here, Badal said: “Everyone knows that Congress leaders were behind the riots. Amarinder has no authority to give a clean chit to Kamal Nath.”

On Amarinder’s proposed “Loka Da Darbar” programme, he said: “There is no match between the ‘darbars’ of maharajas and pro-people Sangat Darshan.”

Meanwhile, the CM favoured the continuation of the MSP of crops, saying, “For the revival of the agriculture sector, which has now turned a non-profitable venture due to high input costs and low returns, the continuation of procurement at MSP is the need of the hour.”

Aid for Manak’s son

Badal assured free treatment and all possible help from the government to Yudhvir Manak, son of late Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak. Yudhvir, who is suffering from some disease, along with his mother had come to the CM’s residence at Badal village this morning and sought relief.
