Indo-American ‘30 Rock’ Actor Comes Out As Gay

LOS ANGELES – Indo-American “30 Rock” star MaulikPancholy has come out in themedia for the first time, speakingabout his long-term partnerin a new interview with Outmagazine.The 39-year-old actor madethe magazine’s annual “Out 100”list, and told the publication, “Ijust celebrated my nine-year anniversarywith my partner.”He went on to note that hismood was particularly celebratory“on the heels of the DOMAand Prop 8 decisions.”Pancholy, who is currentlyvoicing one of the title characterson the animated Nickelodeonseries “Sanjay and Craig,”has been the subject of mediaspeculation for some time.In 2012, Out magazine’s JerryPortwood identified Pancholy,who has played gay characterson “Weeds” and “Whitney,” asan “out actor,” but the 2013 interviewmarks the first time he’sspoken about it publicly.Pancholy’s declaration followsthat of fellow “30 Rock”veterans Cheyenne Jackson andTituss Burgess, who played sassyhairdresser D’Fwan, both ofwhom are openly gay.
