MUMBAI – Indo-Canadian porn star and Bollywood actor Sunny Leone is just two films old in Indian film industry but she is already in the most sought after celebrity list. If not for her dazzling looks, at least for her oomph and style, she is adored by fans, followed by media and wanted by producers.
She has come to India bag and baggage and hopes to make it her permanent home, but what bothers her is that she is not taken seriously as an actor because of her porn industry experience. She believes it is more difficult to ‘perform’ in porn films than to act in Bollywood.
After the success of Ragini MMS-2, Sunny Leone is working on Mastizade and Teena & Lolo. Besides this, she is also hosting MTV’s Splitsvilla with Nikhil Chinnappa. These days Sunny is the most wanted hottie in Bollywood.
Excerpts from a conversation with her:
How you rate yourself as an actor-Hindi movies main stream actress or porn star?
See, in one’s life what matters most is what you ultimately end up doing. We get mature with time; understand things and the things you saw on screen (porn films) are not easy to perform. I would say that the things look easy but in reality it’s not easy to perform or act in front of so many people.
Why did you decide to do Television when you are getting so much work in Bollywood?
I had promoted Ragini MMs-2 on MTV as well. It was at that time I decided to do something on TV too and now you are seeing it as Splitsvilla.
Who is your role model in Indian film industry?
Katrina Kaif. Like me, she also came from some another country and established herself here.
After two years, where do you want to see yourself?
If you asked this question two years back, then also I would have faltered answering this. I want to do good work and whatever happens would be for good.
What is your dream?
I want to do more work and one day, I would like to have a wonderful and happy family
Is there any remorse in your life?
Nope. I am happy with who I am.
Do you believe in God?
Yes. I belong to a Sikh family. Since childhood I used to go to Gurudwara. I have Ganesh and Budha idols at my home as well.
In India, how would you like to be remembered- as a Hindi film actor or an American porn star?
Only as Sunny Leone, the workaholic…
