SURREY – Immigration Minister Jason Kenney celebrated Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society’s “Reflections: PICS 25th Anniversary” book launch last Friday.

The book, authored by Dr. Gharib Singh Pannu and Randi-Lee Taylor, details PICS Society’s journey throughout the years, struggles, challenges, successes and future hopes.

Kenney attended the book launch to share in celebration and gave a speech honouring PICS Society for their continuous efforts in providing programs and services that have bettered the community. These programs cater to immigrants, women, seniors, and youth.

“In line with the book’s title, Reflections, this milestone has given me the opportunity to reflect on our work and the goals we want to achieve,” says Charan Gill, CEO of PICS Society. “It has given me more drive and strength to ensure the community is reaching its full potential through services and programs that provide them with valuable opportunities. I’m looking forward to many more achievements.”

“Life is a continuum of energy, resources, pursuit and actions. It provides opportunities for each and every individual to make the best of them,” says Dr. Pannu. “Grab them, use them and that would be one’s legacy. Remember PICS is a living establishment.”
