By Ashok Bhargava
we are
prayers on the lips
like bare mantras
in anticipation of the cadence
we praise God and sing hymns
like birds
coarse yet melodious
our eyes can see music
hear colors
because music is just a word
before colors make it music
we are stones
sculpted and sonic
responses to deities
we are souls
without a name
