MOHALI – Punjab School Education Board on Monday launched a Punjabi learning website to teach the language and promote it across the world.
After inaugurating the website, the state’s Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema said that the website has been developed in collaboration with Punjab University.
He added that in the modern era of globalisation, people must take full advantage of new technologies to promote their mother tongue across the world. Due to this initiaitive, anyone can learn Punjabi sitting in any part of the country or abroad.
He emphasised that it will also be very useful for NRI Punjabis to now teach their children their mother tongue without travelling anywhere.
The Minister said that this initiative was taken by the Education department under a number of projects launched to promote Punjabi language and dedicated to 50 years celebrations of Punjabi Suba.
He said that advanced technology, like audio-video assistance, has been provided on the website for better learning.
Cheema said that the website will be updated regularly and online examination facility will soon be provided so that appearing candidates can evaluate their performance.
