SURREY – Grade 12 Tamanawis students, under the leadership of  Suminder Singh (Tamanawis mathematics teacher), sought God’s blessings for their forthcoming graduation.

The Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was started on 6th April and the closing ceremony was performed on 8th April in the large gymnasium of Tamanawis Secondary School. The school students, in groups, performed various activities due to which the task became easier. Besides, few Sikh scholars acquainted students with the teachings of Sikh gurus and imbued them with religious values. Naina Grewal, a school student, conducted the stage very efficiently.

Some prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were Baldip Singh Hayer (Principal, Sikh Academy), Narinder Singh Grewal (Vice-Principal, Guru Angad Dev Academy) and Harpreet Singh. Students and parents also remained at toe’s round for three days.

Suminder Singh and grad parents created a landmark in the history of public schools of Canada by organising this religious function in Tamanawis.

Grad parents and students feel grateful to the school principal, Molson and other school staff for granting permission to organise this function.
