The Indo-Canadian bride-to-be prefers Punjabi speaking bridesmaids and would like for all applicants to be a good liar and actor, willing to memorize information about her and have an “agreeable personality, from a respectable family.”
SURREY – An Indo-Canadian woman is seeking $20 a day bridesmaids for her upcoming weddings after she could only find one from her circle of family and friends.
In a Craigslist ad posted on Saturday, the un-named bride-to-be put out the desperate plea for bridesmaids for her upcoming August wedding.
“I need bridesmaids for my wedding, I already have one but I’m (five) short,” the ad reads. “The groom is really popular and already has (six) groomsmen and I want the wedding pictures to look nice so we need an even number.”
Those seeking to be candidates for the gig, the wedding related-events run Aug. 24 to 30 and according to the ad, even though its stated as $20 but the woman posting the ad is willing to negotiate.
But before salary is discussed, all applicants must meet a few “requirements.”
The bride is only looking for bridesmaids between 5’0 and 5’5, between a size 0 and a size 6, between the ages of 27 to 33 and must be attractive – “but not too attractive.”
She also prefers a Punjabi speaking bridesmaid and would like for all applicants to be a good liar and actor, willing to memorize information about her and have an “agreeable personality, from a respectable family.”
Well $20 a day is a good gig given that Indian weddings come with all the pomp and pageantry not to mention all food and drinks at the events included for free.
