There had been much made on social media that Saroops (Sikh Holy Books) of Guru Granth Sahib sent by the SGPC and sponsored by a Sikh family from Melbourne, Australia that somehow it was not according to Sikh customs as the bus was shown in pictures to be ransacked but it has since arrived at Surrey’s Khalsa School where the Saroops are available for a donation but not a fee as some had speculated. Controversial Satnam Education Society head Ripudaman Singh Malik had come under scrutiny for the way the saroop shipment was handled but a press release from the Society said Malik and the society have long offered such things like saroops as well as karas for free as part of their long service to the Sikh community in BC.
