FARIDKOT – A resident of Maur village allegedly raped and killed an eight-year-old Dalit girl of the same village on Monday. He reportedly did this to avenge the humiliation he suffered at the hands of the victim’s mother around a month ago.
The Kotkapura police have arrested Gursewak Singh, 24, on charges of murder, rape and kidnapping. The body of the child was found in a field on the village outskirts on Tuesday morning.
A post-mortem examination confirmed rape and strangulation.
