Liberal candidates came together at a conference in Surrey Thursday to outline the party’s platform which was announced that morning by their leader Justin Trudeau. The Surrey area candidates, including Indo-Canadian candidates Sukh Dhaliwal, Hajit Sajjan, Jatinder “Jati” Sidhu and Jesse Adcock met with members of the South Asian media to point out what sets their agenda apart from their rivals NDP and Conservatives. We are still early in the campaign that is still a little less than two months away. So the candidates talked about all the good things their leader Justin Trudeau and their party are doing and they had plenty to say as key parts o their party platform, including huge infrastructure funding announcement, made out east early Thursday morning. There is some momentum on the Liberals side although not as much as the NDP but Liberals need to keep fighting for support from both the middle and right and even left if they are to emerge as the party with the largest seats to form a minority government. Really their fight right now is largely with the NDP to come out on top but the Conservatives will spend their millions in the final weeks of the election to swing support back their way despite their ongoing scandals and not speaking to the media. How the Liberals and the NDP do in the final two weeks will determine who forms the government on Oct. 19!
