Chandigarh: Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal has expressed reservations on whether cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal could work together.

He said Sidhu’s exit would not have any effect on the SAD-BJP combine in the Assembly elections.

On CPS Sidhu, he said: “Navjot speaks against the ruling alliance before the media, but she often comes to me and Badal sahib with files of projects and transfers.”

He said: “Badal sahib never reacted or bothered about her outbursts. He has always respected the counterview. I too had cordial relations with Sidhu. I wonder what their problem is with the alliance even as they have been winning elections with our help.”

On another matter, Sukhbir said they could not impress upon the Centre to withdraw presidential reference on the SYL from the Supreme Court as the matter involved other states as well.

Sukhbir, who held Sangat Darshan at Banga, rejected the proposal made by AAP leader HS Phoolka, saying: “How can it be done when the matter is already in the court? It just does not involve Punjab. We have made our point.”
