VANCOUVER, BC: With symbolic bouquets of “dead flowers” and candy boxes containing mugshots at this year’s presentation, Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers has unveiled B.C.’s six “most wanted” criminals and suspects who remain on the lam this Valentine’s Day. They could be far away, or right in your neighbourhood.

Tips to Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and charge of any wanted criminal can lead to a reward of up to $5,000.

For fugitive RabihAlkhalil in particular, Crime Stoppers has partnered with the national BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Program to make available a larger reward of up to $250,000. Alkhalil is wanted for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and being unlawfully at large after escaping from the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam last July.

“All six ‘valentines’ on this year’s list are wanted for serious crimes ranging from attempted murder and manslaughter to producing controlled substances,” says Linda Annis, Executive Director of Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers. “Someone, somewhere knows where these people are and we’re urging them to do the right thing and call Crime Stoppers anonymously.”

“Anonymous tips do work,” Annis adds. “Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers received more than 4,000 anonymous tips in 2022 leading to 73 arrests, 13 illegal weapons seized and $1.4 million dollars in property and illicit drugs recovered. Your anonymity is guaranteed by the Supreme Court of Canada. You’ll never be questioned or called to testify.”

Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers is a non-profit society and registered charity that receives anonymous tip information about criminal activity and provides it to investigators. Anonymous tips may be provided though Crime Stoppers’ downloadable “P3” app for Apple and Android phones, calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at solvecrime.ca, or by following the link on the Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers Facebook page.
