Tarsem Gill pleaded guilty totwo counts of fraud last springin one of the biggest legalfrauds in Canadian historybut changed his mind recently,again delaying the legalproceedings against him. Hewill now face trial but a datefor trial has yet to be set.

VANCOUVER – An Indo-Canadian real estate developeraccused of one of the biggestlegal frauds in Canadian historyhas been allowed to withdrawhis guilty plea and go to trial.Gill pleaded guilty to twocounts of fraud last spring inone of the biggest legal fraudsin Canadian history butchanged his mind recently,again delaying the legal proceedingsagainst him.He was accused of telling his lawyer topay off certain mortgages to his benefitinstead, reported CKNW. Eight monthsafter the plea, Gill changed his mind, ineffect. He says he was depressed andsuicidal at the time of the plea becausehe’d had a major fallout with his son,and That he has trouble understandingcomplex words in English, and nowuses an interpreter in court. The judgehas accepted that, saying a miscarriageof justice could have been possible otherwise.A date for trial has yet to be set.
