MUMBAI – Reliance Industries chairmanMukesh Ambani held discussions with PunjabDeputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal afterwhich he announced his interest in increasingbroadband connectivity in Punjab.The Deputy CM also initiated talks with softwaregiant Tata Consultancy Service(TCS) to take citizen services tothe doorstep of the peoplethrough “Punjab Online” programmethat would cover everyvillage panchayat in the state.Ambani expressed his eagernessto take up a petro-chemical project,expand its facility inHoshiarpur and to invest in agroprocessingin Punjab.Sukhbir invited TCS to invest inthe IT Park, Mohali. Tata Sonschairman Cyrus Mistry said hewould ask his team to visit Punjaband consider the proposal.
