Khanna: Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh blamed the Badals for recent incidents of crime in the state, including the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and attack on RSS leader Brig Jagdish Gagneja (retd), besides the drug menace.

He said Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia would be put behind bars if the Congress came to power in 2017.

Former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal recounted a number of murders and attacks on religious preachers and appealed to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to apologise to the people for his “sins”.

The Congress leaders also took on AAP leaders over their “false” promises.

On SYL, Amarinder said the Congress would not allow its construction even if the court pronounced its verdict against Punjab and said the Congress would not oppose the court order but would bring a constitutional Bill in the state Assembly.

He reiterated that he along with all Congress MLAs would resign in case of an adverse judgment. He claimed that if voted to power, the Congress would waive cooperative loans of farmers and make sure one job per family.
